Ski Trip! --- Pictures Here
Ah, nothing like spending a little bit of that hard-earned vacation :) The monumental mega-terrific ski trip has taken place, and I'm happy to say it was a complete success. Let's see what everyone else thought:
Marsha Huffman - "I had an amazing time"
Tom Lukas - "I love it when a plan comes together"
Phil Hindman - "Ass-pain [due to snowboarding]"
Many thanks to give out, first of all to sweet Miss Laura who put up with the Texans for a Thursday night in Boulder--and also for driving back up to Winter Park with everyone's favorite car-less character Dusty Trail. El vive en Boulder tambien. Thanks to Phil & Eric for teaching me the way of the mountain on my first day snowboarding. True, they had only one day of experience on me; but they did a great job teaching me (except for the whole intense pain bit). Of course thanks to the ringleader Tom for hooking us all up with the pimpin-est condo in all of Winter Park. And letting us hang out at his place next door :P
And of course nothing tops of a day of skiing like amazing food (bacon-wrapped scallops) and a few guiness. It was a 3-way birthday celebration every night up there. There's evidence in the kareoke pictures from Buckets, hell even Tom got up there and sang a few tunes (with a little help from his columbiana). Marsha and I tore up the mountain on skis Saturday, until she passed out at the bottom of Mary Jane of course (see picture for a laugh). Got myself a nice goggles tan from staying out in the sun without sunblock; proof to my boss that I did go on vacation.
At that point, the Texans went the way of the Alamo; while the rest of us regrouped with a hot tub and a few frenchmen. Luckily, Laura, Heather, and Dustin showed up to save us in the nick of time! After a few margs at the Taqueria; we wandered around Winter Park and closed a few bars before washing up at Tom's nightly after-bar celebration. I think the night ended with 3 people sleeping on the same pillow, scandalous! Woke up late, hit a few more bump runs, and returned to ole Estes Park for some family time before returning back to the National Instruments desk. It was great to see each and every one of you, and I can't wait until next time--enjoy the pics!
