The only thing not awesome about Google Earth is that it doesn't work on the Mac. What is Google Earth? It's a 3D virtual globe of the planet, that you can zoom in, rotate, and mark points on. You can zoom in on the planet anywhere and you will be looking at satelite photographs. It is awesome and a lot of fun. Oh yeah, and it's free. If you have a windows computer, do this right now:

• Click here to download the African Eclipse map overlay

This will give you a great idea of where our Egypt trip will need to go to be in the path of the eclipse. And messing with Google Earth is just plain fun!

So I've spent a ton of time improving jumphook.com. Do I enjoy it? Yes. Is it worth the time I've spent doing it, that could have been spent doing other things? I'm just not sure. One thing's for sure: Thru the month of October my google ad revenue has piled up to $1.79. That's right. almost $2/month is what it's looking like. I don't have to have my own site to do all the online things I've grown accustomed to -- I could share my photos thru kodak.com, I could blog thru myspace.com, everything else I can find giant corporation websites that have already developed these things. I have all these big ideas about this site, and I love learning about these new technologies; but I can't help ask myself... Is it worth it?
